VIA Creative have been shortlisted for the Best Use of Digital Technology category at the North East Business Awards 2018.

As an agency based in Middlesbrough we are extremely proud of our Teesside roots. Having invested in building a team of locally assembled talented and skilled designers and developers to offer a truly bespoke design, marketing, web & digital service to our many local, regional and national customers, it gives us immense satisfaction to have been recognised for the work we do in getting shortlisted for this category.

The North East Business Awards are a significant recognition for the hard work a whole host of companies across our region produce day in, day out. A lot of it does go unrecognised but the event on the 22nd March at Teesside University will celebrate some of the fine work these businesses do, ours included!

With thirteen categories, each category has been whittled down to just 3 companies per category. The category we submitted our entry for was The Best Use of Digital Technology.

The recognition comes for a bespoke, native app we developed for a local business, ‘Your Voucher Book’ (YVB) and reflects the clients’ requirement for a mobile digital solution to enhance their business which previously only had a printed voucher book giving customers significant 2 for 1 savings on eating out, hair & beauty retailers and leisure activities. The app is available on the App Store and Google Play Store too.

We applied our bespoke app development service as a means to solve YVB’s digital problem. They wanted a solution that would allow their previously printed product to work on mobile devices expanding their market and driving increased sales through the app to compliment the printed book sales.

The design and build of the mobile app was a significant app development project for VIA. I’m extremely proud of our inhouse team of UX designers and native app developers as they went over and above to ensure the project was completed in a very short time frame. In the end, they had produced a solution which has enabled the client to push their product offering into a new digital market.

From our perspective it was fantastic to see a local client adopting our mobile app development services to enhance their business and proves that local businesses don’t have to venture outside of the region for this kind of digital technology.
