Following a successful tender pitch Redcar & Cleveland Council commissioned us to undertake the planning, strategy and creation of all creative content through a coordinated marketing campaign to promote the opening of their newly built, youth centre hub called Tuned In.

Creating dynamic youth branding that would appeal to the target demographic

Following our commission we undertook a series of sessions to create the look and visual identity of the new youth centre branding. We produced a range of differing styles that were presented to the steering group at Redcar Council and the chosen style featured a range of icons that reflected the service offering within the centre itself, such as a hair & beauty salon, arts & crafts room, a dance studio, a performance area including a stage, a cafe and an ICT suite.

Design of a range of associated brands for the centre

As part of the creative delivery we also created a range of brands to promote the various strands of the Council's offering for this new youth centre. This included logos for the actual building named Tuned In!, the marketing message itself 'Are you tuned in' and a separate brand for a local event that we also marketed to engage local youths to get involved in a special talent show named Tuned In 2 Talent.

Implementation of the marketing campaign

Our marketing plan included management of the key deliverables all aimed at a specific opening date, we were under tight timerames to implement the campaign managing the planning and coordination of the process along the way.

We successfully managed the Council's defined budget for marketing collateral and advertising spend during the campaign, this included effective control and planning to deliver the creation, print and delivery of all printed materials including flyers, banners, posters and leaflets inclduing school resource packs for headteachers in the region.

We also managed associated marketing collateral for the Tuned in 2 Talent show that was to be coordinated to complete on the launch evening of the new buidling.

We also implemented the campaigns press and PR including press packs, local advertising and promotion across a wide range of touch points.

The project also needed a wide range of additional marketing collateral so we created a range of idea styles that were presented for consideration.

Marketing collateral design that hit the spot

The marketing campaign was implemented in a way that the opening night of the building resulted in a finals night for the Tuned In 2 Talent Show. Attended by Redcar Council dignatories and key stakeholders, the event was a great success and resulted in a great deal of press and PR coverage. For ongoing marketing we also developed an app that was to be used to promote events, shows, workshops and classes available at the Tuned In youth centre.
